Tickled Pink

Outfit Details:
Blazer: J. Crew
Ruffled Tank: Ann Taylor
Pants: Gap
"Elf" Booties: Chinese Laundry from approx. 8 years ago (and still in love...)

In light of the snow falling today I decided I would throw in these pictures I took when there WAS still snow on the ground BEFORE spring had started. Give us the warmth already!
These booties are the most beloved pair of shoes I own, simply because they are the comfiest shoes my feet have ever known. I can walk miles and miles with these without blisters and pain. Sometimes heels just don't do it for me...

I have some big news!! I will finally be opening my own vintage shop on Etsy within the next few weeks. I have been wanting to take on this venture for awhile now, however time is always a constraint. If only we had more hours in a day....
As soon as the shop debuts, I will let you all know :)

These pants immediately caught my eye when I walked into H&M last week. The print is somewhat Aztec/animal inspired and I am so in love. They feel like pajamas-which puts a smile on my face. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend--Let's start the week off right!

I know it's been forever! No more is the winner of the Her and I Shop Giveaway...((Drum roll...))

Liz Crowny  Congrats!

I have been thinking about what it is about blogging that keeps me coming back for more. After all, it takes a lot of my free time and can be frustrating at times (html can be a ____). Yet fashion bloggers near and far fight through and continue to venture on with their works of art and never quit. Here is my compiled list of why I stick around.
  • Amazing people. I had NO idea how many great people I would meet through blogging. I was skeptical at first, asking questions like:

Will I just be yet another blogger in a sea of thousands?
Will I be judged?

Truth is I think that you DO set yourself up to be looked upon by the rest of the world and receiving negative feedback. If you do, you ignore it and it makes you stronger. The amazing people I have met outweigh the negative people by an infinite number.

Community. There is a sense of community that can only be explained by actually becoming a part of it. Engulfing yourself in the likes and interests of others. I guess you could say it's like starting your own sports team of sorts. People that are always rooting for you and stand behind each other.
  • Self-expression. I have always been one to express the way I am feeling through fashion. What better way to tell others how you feel?

Pissed off mood = Edgy
Content = Bright Colors +/- Happy Shoes
Success = Androgynous outfit meets "Girly Girl"
and so on and so forth....
*Happy Shoes = A heel that is at least 5 inches high

What keeps YOU coming back for more?

A Break From Regular Posting to Help Japan

Picture via

I had to take a break from regular posting to urge others to take a few minutes out of your day to pray and help those that are suffering in Japan. We may go through our regular work day and get frustrated that our car got a flat tire or we spilled coffee on a new blouse. Whatever it may be, doesn't hold a candle to the devastation in Japan. Japan is in dire need of our help to rebuild their nation. Here is a list of links where YOU can help (every penny counts):
*All of these donation sites were found via and I have researched to make sure your money is going where it MATTERS.

For up-to-date information and recaps of the devastation please visit:

**If you have blogged about the Tsunami in Japan or know of other links to help, please let me know so that I may include it.

Plaits and Sweatshorts: A Perfect Combination

I was featured on Forever 21's blog- The Skinny in this week's Fashion Face-Off, get your vote on!

What I'm Wearing// Blazer: J. Crew//Tank Top: Alternative Apparel//Necklace: Vintage// Sweatshort: Modcloth on sale!//Jessica Simpson Dany Platforms

And so it love with "Sweatshorts". Are they a dream? I think not, they are the most comfortable piece of heaven I have ever worn. Best part? You CAN make them chic.

I have to admit that I wasn't a huge fan of "dressing up" sweat pants when they first started trending. But now? I just can't get enough. Why wouldn't we want to be comfortable? So ladies...join in the SWEATSHORTS era with know you want to.

As far as the hairstyle goes, I attempted to do plaits and failed miserably. Fortunately these photographs do not do my mess justice because they were taken far enough away. I basically separated my hair into 4 braids and threw them on top of my head in a ridiculously messy fashion. Anyone can do it :)
