A Memorial Weekend

Memorial Day weekend was a work weekend for me. I worked nights (which is always brutal) and made a quick pitstop in NYC on Saturday night for a friend's birthday. We went to the Hudson Terrace which has the most gorgeous view and the breeze at night is amazing. I brought my camera and realized it was dead once we got there, so no photographs were taken to document the night, Bummer.

Striped Sunrise

I fell head over heels in love with this dress the second I laid my eyes on it at ASOS. It reminds me of this Kate Spade dress, just slighty different and more affordable. I wore this to a friend's Jack and Jill this weekend. It was fun to twirl around in and I am counting the days until it is acceptable to wear it again (and again). This will become a summer staple dress this year for sure...What's your go-to item for summer this year?

A little bit of ruffles and shimmer

This weekend was one without any prior engagements, which can be the best kind of weekend. The rain let up and the sun came through both Saturday and Sunday, which was a nice surprise (especially considering it's supposed to rain all week again). Have any of you heard of the independent designer, Kendall K? Her lace "Betti" shorts were recently featured in the May issue of People Style Watch and her line has some unbelievably gorgeous items. I love that this dress has the ruffled top and the skirt has a bit of a shimmer to it. Perfect for any summer event.

Prep School

Yet another Bloggers Do It Better assignment. I actually thought about sitting this one out, however considering my competitive personality; I quickly got to work. I chose a basic black tie so that I could stick with a black/red/white palette (which for some reason makes me think "total prep"). My next "bump in the road" came this morning. The weather for the next 5 days includes...you guessed it, RAIN. I jumped outside when there rain decided to take a break. 
I attempted the infamous "Carrie Bradshaw" bun via the gorgeous Beth Jones. It was great having my hair out of the way all day, tucked nice and neat on the top of my head. Her tutorial was super easy to follow and I will definitely be using this look again!

Leopard Brights

Last year I made the mistake of wearing sandals to the Brimfield Flea and came back with some pretty dirty feet (TMI?) This year I opted for some comfy motorcycle boots that I scored from Forever 21 recently. They made it through the day without annoying my feet and were great trudging through the dirt. You will also notice that my hair is much lighter for the upcoming summer months (will it ever be sunny and warm?!) I am hoping the sun will contribute to brightening the rest!

Brimfield Flea Market

Vintage shopping has quickly become a passion/hobby of mine. My favorite event is the Brimfield Flea Market which is held three times a year in May, June and September. I highly suggest you visit if you live nearby! There is thousands of vendors and you can find just about anything here. This year I found lots of vintage jewelry and saw a few other things that were slightly overpriced (thus, left them). If you can believe it, I scored all of these items for under $75. SCORE. Yes. 






Loving these old hanging buckets with flower pots inside. Definitely recreating this. Very boho chic. Loved this daybed with cushion!

All About Business

This weekend was filled with lots of driving and thus-lots of traffic. We went outside of Philly for my boyfriend's family members' graduation...Sometimes a good, but short road trip can be fun! Plus, even though the traffic was heavy, I still love going over the George Washington Bridge. This outfit is not from this past weekend- it was pretty rainy and If you follow on twitter- you would have seen my outfit from Saturday. I forgot my camera this weekend and wasn't able to get any outfit pictures! Boo!
