Honeymoon Trip to Bali

Planning our honeymoon was by far one of my favorite parts of the wedding planning thus far. We decided on using Jetsetter's Personal Travel Planner. There is a one time $250 fee and this gets credited to your trip once it is officially booked. There were speedy and informative and sent us a travel guide of places to visit while we are there.

While planning our honeymoon, we went back and forth between a few destinations. My dream has always been to visit Africa, but it can be rather expensive (for the safari's) and we only have 10 days. We chose Costa Rica in the beginning but found out that it was their rainy season. We then were set on Santorini, Greece and we even booked our plane tickets. We decided to get our money back because of the recent financial struggles within the country and didn't want to run into issues while we were there. It was at this time that I remembered that my fiance has always wanted to travel to Asia and I had heard great things about Bali. We set our heart on it and planned the trip.
I could not be more excited to travel across the world and discover another culture. I have not traveled much in my life (yet) and have only been out of the country on 2 trips (Dominican Republic, United Kingdom, & Canada). I have always wanted to travel much more but unfortunately our careers do not allow for it.

If you have ever been to Bali, Indonesia or even anywhere in the world that you think is wonderful - let us know! We would love to plan more trips....maybe for our anniversaries?!? ;)

  1. Planning our honeymoon was my favorite. I've been to a lot of SE Asia but not Bali yet. I would also recommend Thailand, it's absolutely amazing as well!

  3. I've been to a lot of SE Asia and Bali was definitely my favorite place so you're in for a real treat!! It's even more gorgeous than in pictures if that's possible and the locals are the sweetest! It's a shame to be in SE Asia and only visit one country though, since travel around the region is so cheap with many budget options. If only you had more time!!

  4. while you're in Bali, make sure you visit Rock Bar at Ayana Resort, Karma Kandara at Uluwatu, Padang-padang Beach, Pecatu New Kuta Beach / Klapa Resort, Ku De Ta, Seminyak and Legian areas for the cool little shops and restaurants.

I live in Jakarta, Indonesia and Bali is like my 2nd home. So if you need any advices at all, just hit me!

  5. I've spent a month in Indonesia and you will love it!
For future trips, every place I've been has been a joy and adventure. You must go to Spain, France, Mexico (not a beach resort), Argentina, India!!, and Thailand to name a few.

  7. Our dream honeymoon was Santorini, Greece, but both of our families talked us out of going because of the economy there. Now we're headed to Maui and Kauia. I've had a few friends go to Bali for their honeymoons and they all raved about it. You'll have a wonderful time!

  12. How exciting! All I know about Bali is what I've seen on House Hunters International but it seems to be a favorite vacation spot (and apparently quite affordable? at least once you get the plane ticket out there.)Can't wait to see photos and hear about your trip!

  14. I'm pretty sure you picked the perfect destination! Bali is on my wish list; so I'm excited to see what you think. We went to Belize for our honeymoon, and even though it seems kind of under the radar, it was amazing!! I've traveled quite a bit, and Belize is definitely up there on my list of favorite places.

  16. The Wakaya Club in Fiji is the MOST romantic place in the world (in my opinion) you must go if you can!
