I absolutely love my job saving lives in the emergency room but I have to say that it occasionally takes it's toll. I go through phases where I love everything that I do and phases when I wear myself thin. It is so hard to experience such turmoil and loss of life on a daily basis. We make a lot of people better but we also see the world at it's worst as well. While I will always want to keep my job in the ER, I have been thinking of other things I may be meant to do in my lifetime. You know, those nights where you lie awake and think: I am really born to do that.
The more & more I got into blogging had me thinking about how much I love photography. I love catching the world in it's best light via a camera lens. The ER teaches me about illness/disease/death/life and a camera lens shows us the greatest events in one's life: a baby, a wedding, an engagement, maternity photos, etc. While I have been thinking about this for years, I have finally put my foot down and decided to pursue these dreams in the next few months- year. I will be takes classes with Nicole (found by Lauren) and learning everything I can about photography.
Do you know anything about photography? Any tips or classes that you suggest? :)
Love the touch of pink...can't help it it is my favorite color this summer. And sadly I know nothing about photography...all I remember is from when I took a class about ten years ago, and that's then about it. :( It's already dated. :(
I love the combination of pink and yellow! And re: photography - I'm hooked! I love taking classes, wandering around NYC to practice, and seeing my progress as I practice. I highly recommend Okello Dunkley's classes - let me know if you want to attend one in NYC!
First- love this outfit! The top is just so precious. Second- I've done a little photography-a few weddings and even had a photo published in the Outer Banks travel guide. I have never taken a photography class, I've thought about it, but never did. I basically taught myself, did a lot of trial and error, played around with settings, and talked to friends who are photographers. My friend gave me the best advice ever and said that the first 1000 pictures will be the worst photos but the best learning experience and he was so right. Just get out there with your camera and be creative, don't think too much about it, and just shoot. It will come naturally to you. The other good advice is to find a local photography club in your area. It's a great way to meet other photographers. The clubs also usually give you a topic every month to go out and photograph, then you meet and discuss and hear feedback about your photo. Helps keep your creative juices going. If you ever want to chat about it just shoot me an email :) beijos, Tiffany www.beijostiffany.com
Go girl! I work in family law and while it is not quite as life/death as the ER, it can be quite dismal, discouraging and frustrating. I would love to, thought about (also late at night) and pondered pursuing a job in personal styling of some sort. I don't know if/when I would be able to take the plunge, but I applaud you for doing so and I wish you the best going forward.
I've been taking some classes through Alt Summit online to get better at my own photography skills -- they're super cheap and pretty useful, check them out!
Welcome to my lil' space on the web! :) I am so happy you stopped by! I'm Lynzy and I needed a place to dump all of my creative craziness that exists inside my brain on a daily basis. I work full time in medicine and when I am not in scrubs, I utilize my closet as a means of expression depending on my mood. I hope that you all enjoy my ramblings about fashion, fitness, and every day life things. Oh, and we have a little bambino on the way. Come hang with us!
you look stunning
