- I feel so strange writing a regular post as if the friday tragedy did not exist. The truth is... I need to pick up the pieces one by one and get back to a normal routine. My husband and I will be bringing teddy bears to the children of Newtown today and attending a vigil this evening. We are all healing and it will take a long, long time for that to happen. Believing in a higher power has helped me with this and I just pray that we can all get back to "normalcy" as fast as possible (whatever that even means....)
- The holidays are quickly approaching. I find myself rushing around to get all the last minute presents! I plan to bake these for our Christmas Eve party, don't they look delicious?!
- This shirt by Three dots is unbelievably comfortable. The best part? You can eat as much as you want on Christmas and not notice ;)
- I am in the process of pursuing a dream of mine that I have had in my head for a few years now. The girl who inspired me to go for it? Erika from Style Activist. If you want to be healthy and fit in the new year, you have to see what she is cooking up over here. I am taking a leap of faith into a photography career. Of course, I will never leave medicine....but I want a side job here and there that puts a huge smile on my face, and that's photography.
- Last but not least, you all have the chance to win an initial necklace from John Wind Maximal Art ( as seen above). All you have to do is be a follower of Sparkling Footsteps and follow along with John Wind on facebook.

I follow you and John Wind on twitter. I love those initial necklaces, they are so simple and can be a part of every outfit.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with your first statement - I debated for a long time about whether or not to even post something today...but ultimately came to the same conclusion as you did.
ReplyDeleteLove this layered casual look on you - wishing you the best of luck in your new photography venture...so exciting!!

You look like Blake Lively in these photos! Love this outfit, the scarf is awesome and I always like the way small gold necklaces look when worn in 2 or 3 layers. Good luck with your photography, you'll have a lot of fun with it!
ReplyDeleteI second what Kimberly said. It feels so strange to be writing regular posts again, especially having grown up 10 minutes away from Newtown. But, I decided to take this time to appreciate everything I have and spend as much time as possible with my family and friends.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, I love this casual look. For some reason, I haven't jumped on the booties train yet, but you might have just convinced me.
ooooooo! super cute! love all the layering. totally cozy and chic :)

That is so thoughtful of you and your husband to take teddy bears to the children of Newtown. It is such a tragedy and I still cannot comprehend what happened. It truly is tragic. My thoughts and prayers to all the families.
ReplyDeleteOn a more lighthearted note, great casual outfit. I think the top looks so comfortable. Gorgeous necklace, too. I follow on facebook.

ReplyDeleteI Follow You and now John Wind on FB. Love the necklace and have my fingers crossed! Thank you so much for a great giveaway. Was just thinking how trivial I was being looking at my fashion blogs in the grand scheme of things, I think you put it perfectly. This tragedy is mind blowing, I cry every time I think of one of those parents or family members who have lost a loved one. Our world has truly gone freakin' crazy.
